in Windows 7

With Windows Vista being a commercial failure, Microsoft wants regain its top status in the business with Windows 7, the latest addition. Still not out Windows 7 has been gathering some buzz for those who have it I will try to answer the following Question.

Can I get Windows 7 and keep Windows Vista?

Yes , you can.

First of All let’s check the System Requirements for the new windows.

  • 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • 1 GB of System Memory
  • 16 GB of available disk space
  • Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128
  • DVD-R/W

Dual booting Windows is the most hardest and difficult way but if you come through it is the most satisfying and rewarding feeling.

To do this you will need to create a second partition on Vista. These are the following steps to achieve this.

1.Press The Start button, right click on the my computer icon and select manage.

2. In the left pane , click Disk Management.

3.Now create a new partition by shrinking a previous volume. Right click on the partition and select Shrink Volume.

4.Input the size, in MB,you want to shrink the partition by 16GB atleast ( 16GB=16,384MB)

5.Now right click the free space and click New Simple Volume.

6.Click Next

7.Select the volume size and click next again.

8. Assign a letter to the drive and click Next.

9.Format the drive as NTFS,give it a label, and click next .

10. Click on the Finish option.

And voila just put the disk and install Windows 7. This way you can run both on the same system.
