Every one of us has one time or the other encountered this problem when certain Windows application gets jammed and doesn’t respond to any command at all. These stopped applications are labeled as “Not Responding” status followed by which is “End Now” or “Cancel.”

In such situation the user gets stuck up as giving command” end Now” too doesn’t prove to be of any effect. And, soon one after the other follows umpteen numbers of “End Now” dialogue boxes. One of the reasons for frozen applications may be umpteen numbers of Windows applications running simultaneously in your system and CPU fails to keep up the performance and results into application crash.

These jammed programs are called frozen Windows applications that need to be killed so as to resume the work. Often in the pursuit of killing these frozen applications user is forced to restart the computer system. This last step to reboot the system may result into Window crash sometime so it is better to resort to some better way of killing these frozen Windows applications. You can create a shortcut of the application on the desktop by right clicking on the screen. Once you have created short cut on the desktop, enter the following script- taskkill.exe /f /fi “status eq not responding” into the location. After this step, you can give a specific name to the shortcut. When you will double click to open this short cut Windows will detect the non responding application and terminate it automatically.
