With the reigning lightweight champion BJ Penn dominating the division and taking on strong challengers like his recent win over the number one contender Diego Sanchez whom he defeated with a fifth round TKO due to heavy bleeding from a kick from BJ. With his supreme performance and top rank skills, the big question is that who will be able to defeat a fighter who is both talented and skilled as an mma pound for pound.
Kenny “Ken-Flo” Florian, born in Westwood Massachusetts, stands five feet-ten inches tall and weighing 155 pounds. He is a mixed-martial artist with a professional record of 14 wins with only 4 defeats. Kenny Florian has been defeated by BJ Penn when he challenged BJ Penn last UFC 101, Declaration. Now with a comeback win against Clay “the Carpenter” Guida and a new training camp he is setting his eyes on the belt of the Prodigy once again. Ken-Flo is a very dedicated fighter who trains 2-3 times a day for 6 days a week. He strives to improve his already strong Brazilian Jiu-jitsu skills and his Muay Thai. Now with his new training camp he has added Boxing as one of his main focus which he showed when he defeated the carpenter. Ken-Flo has an excellent ground game coming from his vast knowledge in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, of which he loves to submit his enemy rather than standing up in an exchange of strikes. Though Ken-Flo enjoys his ground game he is still lethal in his stand-up. He is proficient in Muay Thai, where he loves to deliver his strong leg kicks and setting-up his clinch-knee combination. But the most vicious arsenal he hold is his elbows that has the power, speed and accuracy to tear down his opponents as seen with his fight with the carpenter.
Ken-Flo has become more and more skillful after each fight and has greatly improved since his time in the “Ultimate Fighter Series”. The time he got defeated by BJ Penn many believed that he might take a long break from his defeat. But Ken-Flo proved the critics wrong, instead of taking a break he improved his training and took it as a challenge to rise back and set his eyes on the belt once more. Now Ken-Flo is training hard to become more powerful and become the next lightweight champion. After his big win over the carpenter he declared: “I want BJ Penn’s belt”. Now with a goal firmly set on he will strive to become the next BIG thing in the UFC.
