1. Call Of Duty 4.

A shooter list without Cod4 is incomplete. Activision’s modern warfare shooter has achieved great success critically and in sales.
It has everything you would want in a shooter; amazing technology in the graphic department with photo sensitive image, great multilayer leveling system which is very rewarding for the hardcore, an in tense campaign. The online leveling system is very rewarding as you level up you unlock different things such as guns,perks and other online modes. As you keep growing you will find that creating your own class is the best way to stay alive in the competitive environment that is cod4 online. You will find some great combos of weapons and perks to camp or kill campers without being spotted by radars. In the campaign you play as Soap a newly recruited soldier, this mode takes you through the search of Al Asad an ultra nationalist terrorist. The game puts on a good experience for a fps game but some annoying things make it unbearable at times..nonstop enemy spawning until you finish the objective in that area, you can notice it through the game but it is really apparent when you play in the hardest difficulty. All in all the game is a must buy if you really like to level up you can do it 10 times with the prestige system on the console versions only.
* If cod4 is to fast and tense for you , try out the new installement World At War which is slower paced.
2. Gears Of War 2
Developer: Epic Games Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios Available On: Exclusively On the xbox 360.
Definitely the next big thing after Halo for Microsoft already out with the sequel and about 4million in sales worldwide, also critically acclaimed for it’s great use of the Unreal Engine 3. This tactical sci fi shooter is sure to make any Sony fanyboy drool. An captivating Story with great twist and turns , amazing moments as riding a brumak ( huge monster), fighting inside a huge worm then cut it apart from inside. The campaign is a huge improvement from the 1st addition, not that it was bad either but this was longer and better. The online has been disputed a lot some fans though the first was perfect and needed just a few fixes but I would argue and anyone who has played the 2nd one till the latest patch also. The game now has an experience system, where you gain exp by gaining in game points ( capturing annexes, killing people , reviving teammates etc…) . The levels go upto level 100 and when you reach that you get an special avatar next to your name. In this version the game is more easier on the noobs at least they do not get slaughtered by shotgun abusers each round. This what epic wanted, a slow paced 3rd person tactical shooter not a fast paced shotgun wall bouncing( taking cover really fast from one object to another) mess. With already 3 addons out and another big one coming this summer, this will keep the game alive online. So if you are looking for a compelling story with good co op and fun online experience ( though sometimes frustrating), Gears of War 2 is the best choice.
*If you don’t have the cash get the Gow which is still alive online and has a decent campaign also.
3. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal Publisher: Ubisoft Available On: Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Windows.
A great series and a great. Though it was criticized because the was a small very small improvement on the original Vegas. It still is worth really buying if you do not own the first installment. The campaign is similar to the 1st one but you spend less time in the streets of Vegas and casinos more into the enemy bases. The online is where it shines , even though it doesn’t have the graphics like the games mentioned above the game is amazingly fun. You cannot , i repeat you cannot succeed alone , it is a real tactical fps, unless you are playing Standard Death Match. Getting your friends to play and making effective team strategy is a part of the game. The experience system is great,example you kill someone through cover you get special exp for your CloseQuarterCombat lvl. The game is similar to cod where you have to find the right guns , armor for your style. There is also the terrorist hunt mode you can do with up to 4 people. In the hardest difficulty it is really a freaking hunt. There is only one notable addition from the 1st it is running. Running should be a standard in all game but you couldn’t in the original that doesn’t take anything from the great game but this is definitely an improvement.
So like i said if you didn’t get the 1st one get this because you are definatly missing something. Preferably on the console where you have more friends
